Olive Oil

The crown of Dalmatian cuisine, and thus also the Šibenik Region cuisine – olive oil holds a special place in Croatian cuisine. It is added to cooked meals like a precious spice and used in frying as well as for seasoning cooked vegetables and salads. Also, it is increasingly being used in deserts. Olive oil is very healthy and represents the preferred type of fat in human diet, and the local cuisine would simply be unthinkable without it.
